As The Creative Engine’s Business Development Director, I am often new clients’ first point of contact, so I am very much the face of the company. We are always attracting new business through personal contacts, recommendations, events and exhibitions, so every week seems to bring something – and someone – new.
As an experiential retail design expert, eLearning specialist and trained designer, it really is a dream job. I know how a customer journey should flow, how things work and what they should look like. I take pride in having empathy for our clients. I can adopt their mindset, take their brief and help them to visualise the result, then liaise with the team back at The Creative Engine so they can bring it to life.
For existing clients, I regularly keep in touch, see what’s new, what’s coming up and what we can help them with. It’s not just done on the phone, either: I often head out to see them again, taking their current brief with me for tweaks and updates.
I love the buzz of working with great customers, meeting and interacting with people, and getting to promote cool products, like Sonos’ wireless Home Sound System and Nest’s Smart Home products. I’ve also met, directed and name-dropped more than my fair share of celebrities, Graham Norton, Harry Hill and Ricky Gervais among them, when putting together training products for some of Britain’s biggest brands.
