As one of the product owners here at The Creative Engine, I get to work with a whole range of different clients, including the biggest names in retail. I am responsible for tracking their projects and keeping the clients up to date, gathering data and making sure the products we build meet each developing brief. It is a fairly complex role all in all.

One recent project is particularly satisfying. We are all pulling together to build an Retail application and associated website for a company whose business isn’t conducted in English. We liaise daily, keep them in the loop throughout, and exactly meet their requirements in the build. It’s challenges like that that makes my job here so exciting, but I also like the fact I can employ my existing skills in new and unusual ways.

Before coming here, I launched my own start-up, developing a time management application and working on fleet management software, so I am very comfortable overseeing large software implementations, and developing them from scratch. With constant communication and crucial people management skills, tasks become manageable for everyone to work on together.

I could have carried on with my start-up, but I applied for my current job because I was so impressed by The Creative Engine’s client list and talented team. I was sure that working for the biggest names in retail would be interesting and satisfying, and I have been proven right. It’s amazing to work with smart home software and learning solutions. Without a doubt, the smartest, most motivated and fun team I’ve ever worked with. Great leadership and a fantastic place to work. There is so much skill-sharing and passion that we are all learning new things every day besides coming up with some great ideas for the projects we’re working on.

In my free time, I like to travel and it’s my ambition to visit every country and learn new cultural aspects and skills from different people around the world.
