I came to The Creative Engine from one of the big high street banks. It’s been a breath of fresh air. I was working in retail banking where the focus was entirely on selling. Here, we’re more interested in building long-lasting relationships with our clients. It’s a refreshing approach, and one that gives them enough time and head space to think things through before they make a commitment.

I think that’s why I love it so much. I’m very customer-centric, enjoy talking to people and like doing what’s right for the customer. I’m a great believer in doing things right first time, which is the best way I know to gain the kind of trust that attracts repeat business.

I’ve only been here a few months and I’m relishing all the opportunities that being the new guy presents. I’ve brought in a fresh way of doing things and I’m spending a lot of time listening and learning – as much from our clients as from my colleagues. I really want to hear what the client’s looking for and any ideas they might already have that I can take back to the team.

That brings me to another of my passions: problem-solving, which is something in which the team here excels. It’s great seeing where they take an idea – and even better that I’m the one who gets to present the results to the client. I’m almost always the good news guy, courtesy of The Creative Engine’s brilliant coders and artists.

Outside of work, I’m really into my sport like a large many of my TCE colleagues. Squash, gym and skiing top the list, and I’m looking forward to getting back into off-road cycling, which I haven’t done for a while!
